Our year in pictures: the retreat where the whole centre leaves the office for a few days, and the conferences we travel to.
Our third research retreat took us to Kaløvig Center near Rønde for two days at the end of October. We looked back on 2026 and ahead to 2027, held sessions on research challenges, a Ph.D. dissertation, research grants, open source and industrial collaboration.
The centre travelled to Vienna for IEEE VIS 2025, the main conference of our field. Niklas received the 2025 VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award and we presented our contributions.”
Our second research retreat took us to Sandbjerg Gods, a manor house in southern Jutland, for two days of energizing discussions and compelling research. Beyond talking, we hiked muddy paths, played chess late into the night in historic rooms, and some of us braved a winter bath.
In our first research retreat of the CA3 center we had visitors from the CAVI center and formed goals of our research going forward.
